Green Tea is Good for your Health!

We can all thank the ancient Chinese for drawing our attention to the wonders that may be found in a simple yet pleasurable cup of green tea.

For centuries in ancient China, green tea was known for relieving headaches and depression. The tradition of drinking green tea has endured the test of time and today its popularity is soaring as technology breaks down the mystery behind the numerous benefits that are to be enjoyed by regular intake of this soothing drink.

There are three unique types of tea, although tea is available in many forms and varieties.

Whether black, green, or red, all tea starts from the harvesting of a warm weather evergreen known as Camellia Sinensis. Once the leaves are processed, this is where the differences in the end product happen.

The more processing the leaves undergo, the darker the tea becomes, and thus “green” tea has had the least change to its original form.

Green tea is usually a leaf that has been quickly steamed while the blacks and reds have been dried, crushed and fermented making them appear to be stronger and thus more potent.

Tea is known to have polyphenols, an antioxidant which helps protect our bodies from free radical damage.

The measure of antioxidants is known as the ORAC score and tea has been found to rank higher than many fruits and vegetables, so you should seriously consider including tea in your everyday diet.

Aside from preventing blood clotting, studies have shown than polyphenols can decrease cholesterol levels. Consuming four to six cups a day may also reduce gastric, esophageal and skin cancers. Try searching through the internet and you will see the endless list of ailments, aches, and pains that can be relieved by simply drinking green tea.

Among some of the better known of these are treatment and prevention of cancer, reduction of the risk of heart disease, relief from rheumatoid arthritis treatment of impaired immune functions.

The benefits of drinking green tea also extends to the treatment of digestive disorders, Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s while raising metabolism and increasing fat oxidation. It has also been found to help prevent tooth decay by killing the bacteria which causes dental plaque.

Whatever your purpose for drinking green tea, it is obvious that everyone can get some benefit from daily intake.

It should be noted that many of today’s more marketable “herbal teas” may or may not be tea at all as many of these products are blends of herbs and spices with other plant parts included for flavoring.

They do not contain the health promoting qualities of Camellia Sinensis. Be careful when buying these products. Check the ingredients to make sure you are buying the product that you expect.

Severe Acne Types and their Causes

It is not always that a person gets a severe outbreak of acne. But a person may suffer any of the three major forms of severe acne. The severe types of acne are of three main types namely Acne conglobata, Acne fulminans and Gram-negative folliculitis. These are the most sever acne forms which wreak havoc on the faces and minds of the individuals experiencing them. A right and timely diagnosis and identification of the acne is important to treat and control the infection.

Acne conglobata

Acne conglobata is the most severe form of acne. In this type blackheads spread all over the face. The black heads also have a few infected nodules around them. The nodules grow and also burst open. The nodules cause a lot of tenderness and pain. They make the skin scarred too. This form of acne affects males more than females. Acne conglobata is found in chest, back, upper arms, buttocks, and thighs besides the face. They do not clean up fast and may remain so for years.

Acne conglobata in caused by the deterioration of papules and pustules. This is why they are found all over a persons body mostly the torso: hips and upper arms. Old acne lying dormant for a longtime can even cause Acne conglobata. The best treatment for Acne conglobata is Isotretinoin and anti-biotics.

Another sever type of acne is Acne fulminans. Acne fulminans is a severe form of Acne conglobata. Acne fulminans infection is not only severe in the sense that it has ulcerating nodules, but it also is accompanied by fever. This form of acne appears suddenly and is accompanied by joint pain and general ill health. Acne fulminans also causes an increase in the white blood cell count. Taking the hormone testosterone may result in outbreaks of Acne fulminans. An outbreak of Acne fulminans can be treated with Isotretinoin, steroids, antibiotics and anti-inflammation agent (aspirin).

Another major form of severe acne is the Gram-negative folliculitis. Bacteria cause this kind; they can be Pseudomonas aerugniosa and E.coli. This severe form of acne affects the hair follicles besides the pores. The hair follicles become inflamed and infected with the bacteria. He face has eruptions of pus filled pustules. The scars are marked. These kinds of acne cause lot of pain in the region. Gram-negative folliculitis is mainly caused by the use of topical antibiotics and also by tetracycline. The best course of treatment for Gram-negative folliculitis is Isotretinoin along with specific antibiotic.

Weight Watchers plan encourages exercise after the first few weeks. And even though the Weight Watchers plan allows you to eat whatever you want. If you eat what you want your results might not be as good as they would be if you follow the plan. Because the plan suggests that you eat specific foods and exercise in order to lose weight more quickly. In fact you should read as much as you can about the Weight Watchers diet adding exercise in order to lose more weight, more quickly and for less money.

Anyone thinking of starting the Weight Watchers diet needs to remember the daily points are simply a guideline for eating. For those who don?t learn the right foods to consume, they may find the weight coming off, but a healthy lifestyle will still elude them. For those who don?t mind writing down everything they put into their mouths, this plan is great. Watch food points and watch the weight come off.
