When you finally come to a point of wanting to give up cigarettes for you, you will be flooded with hundreds of methods to quit smoking. What works and what doesn’t? All the options can be confusing whether you are trying to quit for the first time or have tried hundreds of times.

Method one is going cold turkey, never smoking another cigarette ever again. For this with strong willpower and good reasons to quit, this does work. But many people have also suffered failure trying this. It’s better to go cold turkey if you have got to a point of only smoking a few cigarettes a day and if you have a relatively healthy diet. If not withdrawal might be too much. If you aren’t a person with significant willpower, you might want to try another method.

Hypnosis is another common method to stop smoking. Essentially, the idea is to trick your mind away from it’s mental addiction to nicotine. Again this has worked for some people, but many have also failed with this method. It’s debatable on how much you are using your own willpower and how much the hypnosis is actually helping you.

Yet another method (and one of the better ones) is to use quit smoking aids. These would be the patches, gums, and pills that can assist in the process. You have to be careful in your choice of these items since many have high doses of nicotine. You might break your habit with cigarettes but may also still be addicted to nicotine.

There are pills and gums that don’t have any nicotine that help curb the effects of withdrawal. This could be the best way to quit smoking because it aids your willpower.

With all the methods out there, remember there is no easy way to quit smoking.

Congratulations, since you are reading this article you have considered taking the first step on the road to quitting smoking, or you are at least thinking about doing so. It is not an easy thing to do. Perhaps you have friends or work colleagues that smoke or you think you will be too stressed out if you quit smoking. These are all factors working against you as you attempt to give up cigarettes.

All of the above plays a role in preventing you from quitting, also thousands of chemicals included in the cigarette make it highly addictive. All this means when you puff on a cigarette, it eventually makes you dependent on it, both physically and more importantly psychologically. In this article, we offer you some quit smoking tips that will definitely help you during what will be tough times ahead.

It is hard to go it alone when you have made the decision to quit. Get some help. Share you goal with someone close to you, make it known to your friends that giving up smoking is something you have decided to do. Also seek additional help in the form of a quit smoking program. There are paid options or free options. Just remember when you are successful you will be saving yourself a lot of money, not just on the cigarettes but through better health.

A lot of people started smoking and continue to do so due to peer pressure, or the social side of things. Some of us just love to have a quick smoke at work and catch up on all the gossip. This makes it more difficult to quit as it is suck a way of life for many in the community.

Socializing and smoking makes it a tough habit to quit as they go together so well. People often say quitting smoking is harder to do than what you go through to quit non-acceptable forms of addiction such as cocaine.

It is not uncommon that your smoking habit has formed strong associations with many everyday events and activities occurring in your busy life, for example, smoking during cigarette breaks at work. Next time your workmates ask you to take a smoke break go for a quick walk instead; this is one of the most essential quit smoking tips.

Take you mind off your addiction by starting a new hobby around the time you are planning to quit cigarettes or have already quit your smoking habit. Ideally it would be exercise or a new sport activity, but other hobbies are fine.

At some stage on your road to a better lifestyle achieved through quitting smoking you will have to fight off urges to light up another cigarette. When this happens you need to be ready. It is something you just need to overcome in your quest to quit smoking. Have a book or some activity set aside to help get these urges out of your head.

The habit of smoking involves your hand going to your mouth. Instead of food going in you are introducing something your body has become addicted to. This must be replaced with something such as chewing gum and snacking on a carrot stick. Maybe the odd bit of chocolate to help you relax and get past your cigarette craving.

The key point to take from these tips is that the key to successfully quitting smoking is to get any thoughts of a cigarette out of your head. There will be situations where you are thinking I would love a cigarette. If that happens think of the tips in this article and do what it takes to move past this desire. If you can get it right mentally you are half way to successfully stopping your smoking habit.

One of the quit smoking ways many have found to help is to figure the cost of smoking and plan on a reward for yourself with the money saved from not smoking. For the same of even numbers, assume you smoke $5 worth of cigarettes per day. At the end of the year you could buy yourself something nice with that $1,875 if you are a one pack a day smoker. If you smoke more than that, imagine the reward you could get.

If rewarding yourself for healthy behavior does not offer you enough incentive, think about your family, especially if you have small children in the home. The vast majority of parents claim they want only what is good for their children, then fill the air with smoke for them to inhale and potentially become ill from breathing. Take a look at your children and think of the quit smoking ways you will try to give them a better, healthier life.

Smokers should pay attention to advertisements on television, the radio and in newspapers. Companies make lots of money from cigarettes, but they can also make money supplying materials that help smokers quit. There are the patches that help smokers quit, but there are also other products available that provide help and tips to quit smoking.

The illnesses of smokers cost the addicted and the government so much money that many sources of help have appeared for the problems that come with smoking. These afflictions include cancers and heart disease, but they also include problems with teeth and skin. Smoking affects not only smokers, but also the people around smokers. Secondhand smoke can be very dangerous to those that are exposed in homes, bars and other places.

There are two aspects of smoking to consider when attempting quitting and those are the physical addiction and the mental addiction. The addiction to nicotine will last about three days until it is flushed from your system. The mental addiction will take much longer and will require more quit smoking tips to help you be successful.

All smokers understand they spend a lot of money on their habit and would have more to spend on other things they want if it was not for the cigarettes. Set a goal to quit smoking and put the cost of cigarettes away for an entire year. Then take that money and buy yourself something special. In addition, other great quit smoking tips include taking a picture of your children and grandchildren and write on the bottom that you promise to be at their wedding. Then place the picture where you usually store your cigarettes so that every time you reach for them, you will pick up the picture and read your promise.

Smoking is a bad habit. But does anyone really know how bad? The number of smokers is still so high that it is doubtful, especially that the amount of smokers around us makes it extremely hard to break that habit. That’s why many smokers lull themselves into a false security, repeating the stories about healthy 90-year old smokers. The truth however, is quite different.

Why are people smoking? Te problem is that no one really knows, even the smokers themselves. Cigarettes devastate one’s image and good look, they cause terribly bad breath and they are quite expensive. What is worse, they also affect the health of everyone around you, especially children. To make things even worse, the initial effects of nicotine intake – the feeling of relaxation – does not last long and soon disappear completely when body accommodates for the nicotine and ceases to react on this drug.

The Terrible Truth

The facts can’t be contested. Every year there are over four hundred thousand casualties of smoking a year in the United States alone. This is almost a hundred times more than died at the WTC attack and ten times more than the US has lost during the 6-year war with terrorism. The moment a smoker lits his or her cigarette, he or she inhales almost five thousand dangerous chemicals. 69 of those compounds are known to be carcinogenic. The risk is practical – over three quarters of lung cancer fatalities in the US is the direct effect of smoking.

Heart diseases are another problems caused or at least strengthened by the cigarette smoke. Strokes and coronary health illnesses are but two examples of a much wider notion. The chances of having a stroke increases greatly both for cigarette smokers and the second-hand smokers who only breathe in the smoke for other people’s cigarettes.

Another problem is the health of children. If a woman smokes during pregnancy, or if she spends a lot of time around smokers, the child will probably develop heart problems and smaller lungs. To tell the truth, this is not even a chance, but a certainty. Those children who apparently do not suffer from such problems had a potential of being extremely healthy sportsmen. They lost that chance only because their mothers inhaled cigarette smoke.

There is even more than that…

Smoking does not only kill us. It also makes us ugly.

The problems with the changing color of teeth is well-known both to smokers and non-smokers. The tar from cigarettes stains teeth, often forming plaque that can be removed only via dental cleaning. What people do not know is that smoking damages your gums, too. It’s not even about the risk of swelling or inflammation, but about restraining the blood circulation in gums, thus weakening them to the point where they can’t really support the teeth.

Change of color however, is only the first sign of coming problems. On average 18-year-old smokers lose five teeth before they turn 35. Other dental problems are also sad reality, especially that smoking slows down the healing process as inhaling the smoke prevents blood from circulating freely in the gums and mouth. Effect? Every extraction bears a real risk of the so-called dry-socket – a week of excruciating pain and great risk of infection. The risk is carried by both first- and second-hand smokers (though the latter are in slightly better position).

Finally, the negative effects of smoking are not only about your health. Smoking can also affect your look and your wardrobe. If you compare photos before you started smoking with how you look like now, you’ll surely notice that your skin has lost its color and become dull, often with yellowish or greyish touch. Your hair problems are also nothing special – every smoker has less hair which is thinner and less nourished than the non-smoker. But the story does not end here. Cigarette smoke can also damage your clothes. It’s not only about the smell, it is also about its indirect ability to damage the clothes. As the smoke blends into the fabric, one needs wash and dry clean them regularly, even if one hasn’t worn this exact piece of clothing yet. Either you clean your clothes regularly and turn them into washed rags, or you decide to let them stink. Either way, do not blame the manufacturer – China cheap workforce is not responsible for your bad habits.

The time is running. With every cigarette you smoke, you cause irrevocably damage to your health and (reversible) negative change in your appearance. The only right thing to do is quitting smoking right her and right now. Of course, nicotine is addictive and giving up cigarettes is much more difficult than one may think. Fortunately, Cig-Arette is able to minimize the negative symptoms you may suffer during the withdrawal period. Try it and it’ll help you get back in shape faster than you think!

Happy being a smoker? You are slowly killing yourself, your breath stinks and you smell bad, but you still can not quit. You dream of taking a cruise, buying a new vehicle, or making a down payment on a new home with the extra money you would have as a non-smoker. However, every time you try to quit the withdrawal pains send you back to the store for another pack of cigarettes. Is this you? You are not alone. It’s time to ask your doctor if the new quit smoking pill is a good choice for you.

Imagine being able to quit smoking for good without wanting another cigarette, without fighting the withdrawal symptoms and without gaining weight. The quit smoking pill might be your best choice to beat this nasty habit once and for all. Isn’t that worth a trip to the doctor to discuss this and other alternatives?

Determination

You must believe in yourself and your strength to break the smoking cycle. However, sometimes determination alone is not enough to end a dependency that is sometimes equated to heroin addiction. It’s not wrong to seek help; it’s wrong to not investigate any method available to help you to quit smoking. Always remember the goal and seek any way available to help you reach it.

Symptoms

The side effects of quitting smoking can be harsh and may be compared to those experienced in the loss of a loved one. The smoker may feel depressed and mourn the loss, they may be constantly on edge, angry and be set off by the smallest of things. During this crucial time others may not want to be around you, avoid you or simply remove you from their routine.

The new quit smoking pill will help you through this time by suppressing many or all of these side effects and more. The new quit smoking pill will enable you to put down those cigarettes and quit smoking for good. It’s time to make an appointment with your doctor to see if the new quit smoking pill can help you. Once you’ve made your appointment, your doctor will lay out a treatment plan using the new quit smoking pill. He or she will discuss what to expect, any side effects and how to take the new quit smoking pill. Your final step is the desire and commitment to quit smoking for good.

Quitting smoking is probably the hardest thing anyone could ever attempt, aside from scaling Mount Everest. That’s because cigarettes are more addictive than heroin, according to some experts. The receptors in our brain respond to nicotine better than they respond to the chemicals in our bodies, and for this reason it is almost impossible to quit. There are tips on how to stop smoking, however, and if used in conjunction with each other, you may be on your way to stopping smoking forever.

Over The Counter Smoking Cessation Products

Anyone who has ever visited a drug store has likely seen all the products they have on the market today to help people quit smoking. There is the patch, for instance, that you stick on your arm or leg, that gives you just enough nicotine to help relieve the withdrawal symptoms, which are usually characterized by the person turning into a violent, loud-mouthed bear. There is the gum, which is chewed whenever the urge to have a cigarette presents itself and there are more. These products, however, only relieve the withdrawal symptoms. They don’t help you quit for good, only when you’re using them and for this reason most people pick the habit right back up once the product usage is terminated. For this reason, a good tip on how to stop smoking is to use the products in conjunction with a support system.

Support System For Stopping Smoking

When you want to quit smoking, tell everyone you know. Tell your friends, your family, and even your co-workers. When you tell everyone you know, it’s very hard to pick up a cigarette for fear of looking like a failure. Not only that but those people will help you quit by reminding you every two seconds of your promise not to quit. Just remember not to yell at them or scream at them, even though you’ll want to—badly–, they are just there to help.

The best tip on how to stop smoking, however, is to refrain from those activities that make you want to smoke in the first place. For instance, refrain from visiting bars until you are officially a non-smoker, ask to sit in the non-smoking section of restaurants and try to pay at the pump when you get gas so that you won’t be urged into buying cigarettes at the gas station where they are thoroughly advertised.

By following the above tips on how to stop smoking, you can kick the habit, you just have to be prepared for a rough ride. However, the hardest things in life give us the most accomplishment. If you can quit smoking, you have one up on many, many smokers who try desperately year after year to stop smoking. The sad part is that most of those smokers know the above tips on how to stop smoking, and more, yet they are powerless against the cigarette’s addictive power. Don’t become a statistic, use the above tips on how to stop smoking and finally kick that disgusting habit once and for all.

As many people are finding out, smoking is an addiction to nicotine and while many claim they have found the easy way to stop smoking, those who smoke are finding that is not always the case. There are patches, gum, shots, pills and other methods on the market as well as hypnotism and laser therapy that all claim to be the easy way to stop smoking. However, even the most effective methods are only as good as a person’s desire to quit.

In order to give up this addiction, the first thing you need to do is establish that the desire to quit is there. Make up a list of reasons as to why you want to quit smoking, as well as why you should quit. Then establish a date on which you will cease smoking and let everyone you love know about it so they can offer help and support. Finding the easy way to stop smoking that will work for you is all part of the process, unfortunately you will not know if it will work until you try.

Experts say the first 72 hours are the worst but after that the addiction to nicotine will no longer be the major issue, but the habit of smoking will remain. Having a cigarette when you are enjoying certain activities may require you to give up those activities until the habit is broken, which can provide the easy way to stop smoking.

Modify Behavior To Eliminate Smoking Opportunity

As a habit, people will smoke during certain times such as following a meal, while taking a walk or at some other familiar time. Removing the behaviors you associate with smoking can provide the easy way to stop smoking as well as participating in activities in which you cannot smoke. Find an activity you enjoy, during which you cannot smoke and participate more often. Working out in a gym is generally smoke-free and working out more often may help eliminate weight-gain often associated with smoking cessation.

Talk to your doctor about your plan and he or she will most likely offer support for your efforts. Despite the plethora of over-the-counter stop smoking aids, prescription medications have also been used to help people break the nicotine addiction. With your health at risk due to smoking your doctor should be excited about helping you find the easy way to stop smoking that will help you kick the habit.

When you think of hypnosis, does a man standing on a stage, barking like a dog come to mind? While hypnosis has long been thought of as a side show, the true techniques of this process can help a person to relax and succeed at a variety of endeavors, with the aid of visualization and focusing techniques. This is the type of hypnosis that has been proven to be surprisingly effective at helping many people to kick the nicotine habit. While other tools and processes boast a success rate of around 25%, some studies that show how to stop smoking with hypnosis state that up to two-thirds of the people that have tried this technique have been successful. These are pretty good odds in light of other statistics, and when you consider the many positive health benefits that a life without cigarettes can bring.

How do you Stop Smoking with Hypnosis?

One of the reasons that so many have been successful in their efforts to stop smoking with hypnosis is that the visualization process in this technique tends to focus on the positive rather than the negative. For example, smokers in a hypnotherapy session may be asked to see themselves as healthy, free, and energetic. They may visualize themselves saying “no” to the offer of a cigarette, and imagining how good that would feel. By focusing on the positive impact rather than simply trying to escape the poor health that cigarettes can bring, many see a higher success rate when they try to stop smoking with hypnosis rather than by using other tools and medications.

Finding a Hypnotherapist

Once you have tracked down a list of hypnotherapists that claim that they can help you stop smoking with hypnosis, it is time to do a little check of their credentials. First, a legitimate hypnotherapist will have a doctorate degree in psychology from an accredited university. He will be a certified hypnotherapist, and he should be ready and willing to show you his credentials. It is good if he is a member of a professional society, such as the AMA or APA, and he should have a number of years of experience in performing hypnotherapy, particularly in this realm. Once you have found a hypnotherapist, you can figure on anywhere from one to six sessions with this person to stop smoking with hypnosis. You may also receive a CD to take home with you, so that you can play the affirmations on your own time as well.

If you have tried to kick the habit in the past to no avail, perhaps you can stop smoking with hypnosis. It has worked for many others; perhaps it would be successful for you as well.
